Five minutes earlier this suspect in the video was waving and firing a gun into the air!

This video was recorded by a tenant who was assaulted trying to get into the Hudson apartment building at approximately 2:00am during a weeknight. When they were finally able to get inside the building, he was able to capture this footage from the front balcony where dozens of other tenants (who had been awaken by the commotion) were also watching on.

Yet CIM still seems to think the property does not need any onsite security of its own.

The Hudson Hollywood apartments saw another emergency as Los Angeles firefighters reacted to a crisis in apartment 405 (coincidentally the apartment of CIM’s on-site representative).

One must ask themselves, is this property as cursed as many residents past and present suspect?

CIM dubbed by may tenants of their properties as, Hollywood’s biggest slumlord has done it again.

On June 9, 2011 tenants of the Hudson Hollywood apartments were greeted with signs placed at the the front and rear doors saying the gas for the building would be shut off any day now. The notices were placed by the gas company for failure to pay over a thousand dollars in back payments (over 5 months of unpaid bills)

This is a serious problem for tenants as the building supplied gas service is what provides tenants with hot water for showers, dishes, and laundry.

A quick call to the gas company confirmed CIM’s failure to pay on account # 05017882670, as well as the scheduled cut-off date.

Also tenants may have noticed continued vandalism and burglary as someone has stolen that picture of Charlie Chaplin from the first floor hallway.

The Hudson Hollywood owners and management, CIM Group attempt to evict tenants with outstanding LAHD violations. This is direct conflict with Los Angeles housing laws.

Apparently they do not believe water poring out of the ceiling in multiple locations is a problem they should be concerned with. Rather then addressing the issue they turned to their Century City attorneys McGuireWoods, which in our opinion serves only to intimidate tenants to abandon the property rather then seeking remedy under the laws and rights afforded tenants in California.

Violations that directly affected the habitability of the apartment, which was deemed by LAHD to create an uninhabitable sanitary condition for the tenants. The Hudson apartments was subsequently placed into the [REAP] program bringing the apartment under direct supervision of the housing authority of Los Angeles.
CIM is notorious for for using their clout and position with elected officials (such as city counsel president and district representative Eric Garcetti) to skirt tenant rights and city code.

The tenant was represented by Basta, INC. lead counsel Daniel J. Bramzon, who took on the Hollywood real estate giant after a long documented history of building code violations and numerous violation of tenant rights as defined for the RSO and LAHD.

Many residents of the hudson hollywood apartments are still fighting CIM for illegal rent increases (see Rent Control Stabilization Ordinance)

Fighting your landlord is never easy, no matter how right you are (or how wrong they are). Your best bet is to avoid that tenant/landlord relationship all together. Do yourself a favor and look for any other building in the neighborhood instead of the Hudson Hollywood.

With complaints to management falling on deaf ears, tenants have taken it upon themselves for protection.

Chasity James (once an extra on TV show “The Game”) was recently arrested again (see image above) at the Hudson apartments. This time Chasity James was arrested for a felony of criminal threats against other tenants.

Hollywood PD must now have quite a large file of criminal complaints received from tenants at the Hudson apartments in Hollywood (formerly the Hillview Hollywood Apartments).

As reported by Elizabeth Espinosa of KTLA Paul Allee entered a plea of NOT GUILTY in Los Angeles criminal court to charges that he murdered his fiance Enedine Vigil in the 3rd Floor hallway of the Hudson Hollywood apartment building.

It is a very sad time at the Hudson apartments following the murder of a beloved tenant and civil rights activist Enedine Vigil.

After hundreds of complains had been lodged to management (CIM) by Ms. Vigil in regards to her safety on the property, she was planning to move out in the spring. Unfortunately her dreams were cut short, as she was murdered in the early morning on January 4th, 2011 in the hallway just outside of her apartment at the Hudson Hollywood apartments.

CIM GROUP (Hudson Property Management) is so insensitive, that they continue to throw in the garbage (literally) the memorial poster (seen above) in the trash, when it is placed in the common area by other tenants still mourning this tragic event. CIM Group intentions and motivations are clear, and they should be ashamed of themselves.

Swat teams have evacuated the building and a stand-off ensues while the suspect has barricaded himself inside a 3rd floor apartment.

Prosecutors charged Paul with murder Thursday in connection with the slaying of Enedine at their apartment building in the early hours of January 4, 2011. Leaving her body in the 3rd floor hallway and then barricading himself inside to resist police and swat teams.

Paul Matthew Allee, who is being held in lieu of $2 million bail, is scheduled to make his first court appearance Thursday at the downtown Criminal Courts Building.

He is expected to plead not guilty to one count of murder with the special allegation that he personally and intentionally discharged a firearm causing great bodily injury and death to the victim.

Drain flies (also known as “moth flies” or “filter flies”) are a common nuisance in/around homes and commercial buildings, including sewage treatment plants. Adult flies may become so numerous indoors that they congregate at windows, around light fixtures, and around showers, bathtubs, sinks and floor drains. They can annoy people sitting indoors or outdoors. Since these flies often originate in unsanitary conditions, there is the possibility of disease transmission that can affect human health.

Adult drain flies are small (1/6 to 1/5 inch long), fuzzy, dark colored insects with the body and wings densely covered with hairs. Their wings appear large for their body, are held roof-like over the body when at rest, giving them a mothlike appearance. They are weak fliers and fly only a few feet at a time. Larvae are legless, about 3/8 inch long, wormlike and gray, with both ends somewhat darker.

Drain flies breed in polluted, shallow water or highly moist organic solids. You will find the eggs, larvae and pupae in the muck, slime, or gelatinous film often accumulating on the sides of drains and condensate pipes for air conditioners, in the sewage filtration tanks, septic tanks and moist compost. Other breeding sites include dirty garbage containers, rain barrels and tree holes or in low-lying areas adjacent to buildings where storm-water collects and algae or mold grows. The female flies deposit laid eggs in irregular masses of 10 to 200 directly in/on moist organic debris. These eggs usually hatch in less than 2 days and the larvae feed on the decaying organic matter, microorganisms, algae and sediment in the debris and mature in 9 to 15 days. Larvae pupate in/on the surface of this material and new adults emerge in 1 to 2 days.

The key to solving a drain fly problem is to find and eliminate the source, i.e., find the areas of excess moisture and a buildup of organic debris.

Outdoors - Areas that are likely to be a source of moth fly infestations outdoors include:

* Damaged or faulty septic lines
* Areas where rainwater tends to pool or where air conditioning condensate lines drain, particularly if the area is shaded and algae or mold is growing on the soil or foundation.
* For commercial buildings – check the area (usually a concrete or gravel covered) beneath air condition cooling units on roofs or adjoining the building.

If a local source of the flies cannot be found, it is possible that the flies are being carried on wind currents from a nearby sewage treatment plant or another faulty septic system.

Indoors - Floor drain Areas that are likely to be a source of moth fly infestations indoors include:

* Toilets (particularly if they are not used frequently). Be sure to check the toilet tank, as well.
* Sink and bathtub/shower drains
* Floor drains in commercial buildings and basements
* Condensate lines for icemakers
* Loose ceramic floor tiles where water may collect

One way to determine if the flies are coming from a particular drain is to cover the drains with glue boards (elevated on cardboard “collars” to keep them from sticking to the floor or drain. There is also a simple method that you can use at home. Take a translucent container (e.g., a margarine container) and coat the inside with a thin layer of petroleum jelly. Place the container upside down over the drain and leave it in place overnight or for a few days, but check it daily. Emerging flies should be trapped in the petroleum jelly. In commercial buildings, the source of the problem may be more difficult to identify. Pest control companies often use blacklight traps indoors to determine areas where the flies are most numerous and then proceed with a thorough inspection of the area.

The most effective method to correct (or to prevent) drain fly problems is to clean toilets, drainpipes and traps to eliminate any gelatinous rotting, organic matter, thereby eliminating the larval food source. Many of the commercially-available drain and toilet bowl cleaners can be used for this purpose. Many of these cleaners are biodegradable and pose less of a hazard to the environment. If you have a septic system, read the product labels carefully to make sure that the product is compatible with the system (i.e., will not disrupt the microbial action in the septic tank). Routine cleaning of floor and sink drains is important particularly in commercial establishments.

Alternative methods include cleaning pipes and traps with a good, stiff, long-handled brush. It is best to remove the drain trap and use a plumber’s “snake” in clogged drains to dislodge the gelatinous material in the drains. If you use mechanical cleaning methods, you should also flush the lines with boiling water and bleach to remove any material left behind. Caustic drain cleaners may also be used, although they are not necessarily as effective as other cleaning methods. IMPORTANT: NEVER rinse a drain with bleach after using a caustic drain cleaner. Mixing of these two chemicals in the drain line may produce chlorine gas, which is extremely hazardous to anyone who inhales it.

Chemical Control

Indoors, aerosol sprays of pyrethrins (or other “flying insect” sprays) will kill adult drain flies, giving temporary control, but they are not a real fix for the problem. If the drain flies are coming from an outdoor source, exterior applications of any common residual sprays for flies can be made around windows for temporary relief until the source of the infestation can be found and eliminated. Examples of such pesticides can be found in the NC Agricultural Chemicals Manual .The insect growth regulator methoprene (Strike®) is registered for use in municipal wastewater treatment facilties to control midges and drain (filter) flies. Always read the label and follow directions and safety precautions.

This issue was NEVER addressed, with the tenants whose names were included in this heinous letter by incoming management CIM. It was explicitly brought to their attention.

This followed 2 months later by a battery of another tenant while walking to their car, they were attacked by a woman who according to CIM representative “Tamra” is squatting with Steven Tyler in a 1st floor apartment at the Hudson.

Police records will document the arrest of a Ms. Chasity James on September 20, 2010 for assault. A temporary restraining order was issued that day.

Chasity was also charged and arrested for stalking and making criminal threats to an urban blogger who has his offices located at the Hudson apartments.
